HippieFest 2017 was a huge success! This will be an annual event, so stay tuned for coming announcements on the date for HippieFest 2018 !!
HippieFest is turning out to be a huge success. We have many bands signed up already! Here are some things to know before the event is here. If you have any further questions you can contact me, your Host, Gail Carson, at [email protected]
Camping available for $10 per night donation.Camping is rough camping, no electric or water. You can camp in tents, Rv's and even your car or van. There are no formal sites, just camp where you can, it will get busy. You can pay Sue Gedert in the Kitchen.
All food is potluck, please bring food to share. Money Donations for food is accepted. Sue is in charge of the kitchen. She is also the owner of The Farm. Ask her how you can help.
All dogs must be on a leash at all times. Please pick up after your dog immediately. There are free range chickens, also, so please be careful. It would probably be best if you do not bring your pets for this event, as it will be very busy.
No music from radios in the campground. This is a live music venue and people will be listening to the stage from all over the venue.
Rod Sillars is in charge of the stage. If you have any questions about your stage time, or your needs, please talk to Rod.
Burn ban for Hernando County has been lifted! Bonfires in the main bonfire pit only.
Beverly Burger will be videotaping and photographing your set. You will be able to purchase videos and photos of
your set only, by contacting her during the event for details.
Dressing up and having fun is encouraged! The bands will be dressing up like some of your favorite 60's bands. If you have dress up clothes to share you can put them on the photo booth table to the left of the stage, for others to
use.
Things to bring: Bug Spray, food to share, bottled water to share. Chairs, chairs, chairs. We could really use some donated chairs! Other items that would be helpful to bring in case we run out: Paper towels, toilet paper, paper plates, cups, plastic utensils, garbage bags, coffee, breakfast foods to share.
Fun stuff to bring: Tempura paint, brushes, rags, buckets. Facepainting stuff. Arts and Crafts for the Craft Table, Temporary tattoos. Change of clothes in case you get wet. Bubbles, Glow Sticks, black lights. Costumes! Marshmallows/graham crackers/chocolate/sticks for S'mores. RC Cola, and Moon Pies!
We are an all-volunteer crew, so if you would like to help, it will be so much appreciated. Please ask Sue, Rod, Beverly, or myself, Gail Carson, for details.
Please leave The Farm, a little better than you found it, and it will improve each time you visit.
We will be Tie Dying shirts during the festival at the Tie Dye Booth.
Bring bathing suits and a change of clothes, if it rains we will dance in the rain! :)
This event is Family Friendly! Bring your kids!
Looking forward to a really really really fun event!
Gail Carson, Event Host
Announcements Regarding the TShirts for HippieFest:
Here are some Tie Dye Techniques to Consider for Decorating your TShirt for HippieFest.
It will be best to get the TShirts done early because it takes 12 - 24 hours for the colors to set, so they are vivid. This way they will be ready to wear as soon as HippieFest starts!
To accomplish this, I will be at The Farm on Thursday June 8th, for Open Mic, with a Tie Dye Booth Set Up. I will be there early, about 4pm. You will be able to work on your shirt then, so it will be ready to wear in time for HippieFest!
I will also have the Tie Dye Booth open Thursday, June 15th starting at noon.
If you have not ordered a shirt, I will have a few printed shirts extra for purchase at the event, on a first come first served basis. Price will be posted.
Also, at the festival, once all the Tshirts are done, you can bring any white cotton thing, and use our supplies to decorate it, for a $5 donation.
All proceeds, after expenses are met, will go to The Farm <3
